Born: February 8, 1982

Avi Shankar Ain is a contemporary Bangladeshi artist whose work explores the relationship between landscape, memory, and environmental change. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, and later studied painting at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, India.

Inspired by Bangladesh’s diverse landscapes, particularly the Sundarbans, Ain creates atmospheric acrylic paintings that reflect on nature, transformation, and human experience. Through layered compositions, warm tonalities, and fragmented forms, he examines themes of resilience, loss, and belonging. His works invite viewers to contemplate the changing environment and the enduring connections between place, memory, and identity.
